S.T.A.N.D. (Striving Towards Ability Not Disability) is looking for retired teachers and Learning Support Educators (LSEs) who can give at least one weekday a week to support young people with disabilities in Qawra.

Volunteers will provide practical guidance, encouragement and a helping hand while participants take part in activities that support their skills, confidence and independence.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting craft and other practical activities
  • Assisting during cooking sessions
  • Offering guidance and practical help to young people taking part

This opportunity is particularly aimed at retired teachers and LSEs who would like to use their experience in a supportive, hands-on setting. The original volunteer call does not specify any additional formal qualification or numerical age requirement.

When and where
The project starts on 1 October 2026 at Ronald McDonald House Malta – The Learning Centre in Qawra. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one day a week, Monday to Friday, from 8:15am to 1:30pm.
