At Run Gozo, we are a passionate group of volunteers united by a shared mission: to successfully organize il-Ġirja t’Għawdex, Gozo’s premier road race. Beyond this primary objective, we are dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle, offering a unique experience for participants, and celebrating the rich culture and heritage of Gozo.

What started with just 35 participants in 1977 has grown into a major international event, attracting over a thousand athletes 40 years later. This incredible growth is a testament to the dedication and perseverance of our team, transforming a local initiative into a global sporting event.

Today, il-Ġirja t’Għawdex is not just one of Gozo’s leading sporting events but also one of the most anticipated marathons in the Maltese Islands. The event is expertly managed by a dynamic team of young volunteers from the Xaghra Youth Centre, each playing a vital role in the organizing committee.
