Established in 2004, our sanctuary rescues abandoned dogs, providing them with comfort and medical care. We currently house around 150 dogs, many of which are rehomed locally and overseas. Our work is financed by the generosity of private individuals and dedicated volunteers, with some government funding received in 2008 for neutering and structural improvements. We actively campaign for the enforcement of animal welfare laws, microchip registration, and responsible breeding. Cooperating with animal welfare officials and NGOs, we also act as watchdogs for animal cruelty. In 2009, we started a 24/7 emergency ambulance service for stray dogs and cats, now run by the government. Despite promises, sanctuaries like ours receive no consistent government financial support. We remain hopeful for future assistance.
